Join us Saturdays for a pre-season kayaking opener that gets us out on the water and moving again. We will be running 2 sessions so take one or both!
Our spring program continues to evolve and focus on valued components of getting back on the water after the winter season. This program is intended to get our boats and bodies prepared for a safe and enjoyable season of paddling. Components of this program will include tuning up our respective paddling skills, physical fitness and conditioning, and added personal goal setting this paddling season. There will be 2 separate programs each running for 4 Saturdays. Take 1 program or both to kick start your season. Start your paddling season off with with confidence and a strategy to get and keep active on the water this year.

- 4 full day excursions
- If not using your own equipment, we will supply solo kayak, lifejacket, skirt and paddle
What to Expect
- Review and practice of fundamental paddling and safety protocols for solo & group paddling.
- Opportunity to assess, develop confidence, and gain proficiency of your current paddling skills and beyond.
- Goal setting and a plan to realize them in this season.

What You Will Learn
- Review and practice of fundamental paddling and safety protocols for solo & group paddling.
- Opportunity to develop confidence and proficiency of basic skills.
- Opportunity to paddle in more demanding conditions when presented.
Course Prerequisites
- Cold water immersion gear: paddling drysuit or Farmer John/Jane wetsuit with paddling jacket, appropriate head/feet/hand protection
- Willingness to paddle in wet, cold, and windy conditions …or sunshine!
What to Bring
- Your completed and signed waiver (download the waiver).
- Water/sports drink & packed lunch
- Active clothing you don’t mind getting wet (see prerequisites)
- Secure footwear you don’t mind getting wet.
- Extra layers of clothing in addition to prerequisites below
- A change of clothes and shoes.
- Sunscreen, sun hat, sunglasses/prescription glasses with floater string.
- A rain jacket/pants (optional).

At least 16 years of age.
Our Cancelation Policy
To receive a full refund or to switch to another date, we require 7 days notice by email (ask@paddletoronto.com) prior to the start of your program. Exceptions at our discretion. No refunds or reschedules for no shows.
We reserve the right to cancel any program with less than 24 hours notice due to changing weather conditions such as strong winds or thunderstorms. Please check your email for cancellation notices before leaving for your program. In this case, we will try to re-schedule to another date or offer a full refund. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but your safety and well-being on the water is our top priority.
