New Fall Paddling Program:
By request and inspired by all those who have taken courses at Harbourfront Canoe and Kayak Centre, we are offering a Fall
Intermediate Value Package for SKI and above paddlers. This course is
intended for those who wish to safely extend their paddling season
into the fall and experience the rougher conditions that may come with
it. We will be embracing the fall wind and waves to develop control
and confidence in those "textured sea-state" conditions. Focus will be
on boat manoeuvring skills, dressing for cooler temperatures, surfing
and group safety and rescue. The majority of this program will be
conducted in the Outer Toronto Harbour, in open waters, with lots of
fun and play! A 1:4 Instructor/Participant ratio will be maintained
for quality and safety. As an added bonus we will be conducting a
night paddle in conjunction with a practicle navigation clinic on that
same evening. See you on the water!
Course length: 3 Days (10am-4pm), one evening (TBA)
Pre-requisites: Paddle Canada SKI and/or strong fundamental paddling
skills and fitness levels.
Course costs: $395.00, plus HST.
Course Director: Erik Ogaard
Harbourfront Senior Instructors: Costain Leonard, Andrew Green,
Melanie Buckle, Paul Renault.
Course Dates: September 25/26, October 2, 2010. Evening Navigation
date to be announced.
Anyone interested in one final Beginner Canoe Evening Course should call the office
There will be an Alternative Intermediate Paddle running at the same time as our leisure social paddle.
These alternate paddles are for those who want to cover more distance at a faster pace on the Social/BBQ Paddle nights. All Group Social Paddles leave from on the water at 6:00pm starting September so please arrive before 6pm to prepare your kayak and get onto the water. We will post the next date here when we have it.
We have opened more dates in September for our pool clinics - both rescue and rolling.
RESCUE: September 3rd (Friday), 10th (Friday), 14th (Tuesday), 24th (Friday)
ROLLING: September 7th (Tuesday), 17th (Friday)
We are selling one of our Canoe Trailers, and some Used Canoes. Click here for details.
NEW SK1 SKILLS COURSE OPENED UP FOR SEPTEMBER
Unfortunately our August SK1 Skills course is full. As a result we just opened up a new one today, a new Paddle Canada Sea Kayaking Level 1. September 17, 18, 19th 10am to 6pm each day.
Total with the HST is $315.27.
Please call into the office to find out more. 416-203-2277
